They Came to Play Sports. They Found Something Greater.

Some young athletes arrive at sports camp determined to win—but leave understanding that Jesus matters more than any victory. Discover how Fellowship of Christian Athletes is using sports, mentorship, and biblical discipleship to introduce young people to Christ and build a faith that can last a lifetime.

What if a week at sports camp could change the direction of a young person’s life forever?

For some young athletes, sports are everything. But through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), young people are discovering that their identity, purpose, and future are found in something far greater than athletic achievement.

Ben Schmidt, Area Director for Northeast Iowa Fellowship of Christian Athletes, shares how FCA camps are combining athletic development, meaningful relationships, biblical teaching, worship, and prayer to help young people grow both on and off the field.

From multi-sport camps and leadership programs to discipleship experiences and all-abilities camps, FCA is creating opportunities for young people of different ages and abilities to encounter the Gospel and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ben also shares how some FCA staff members can trace their own salvation stories back to camps they attended 10, 20, or even 30 years earlier—a powerful reminder that a single experience can have a lasting spiritual impact.

Discover how FCA is equipping Christian athletes, coaches, and volunteers to make disciples, serve their communities, and carry their faith beyond the playing field.

You’ll also learn about FCA camp opportunities in Iowa, ways to volunteer, and plans for summer 2027.
