Will This Change Foster Care Forever?

Some children enter foster care on one of the most frightening days of their lives, unsure where they will sleep, whether they will stay with their siblings, or what their family’s future will look like. And there simply aren’t enough families ready to receive them.

The Table Project believes the Church can help change that.

Executive Director Angela “AJ” Doyle shares how the organization is helping believers discern whether God may be calling their family into foster care—and providing a new gospel-centered pathway for families who choose to take that step.

The Table Project has worked alongside state partners in Iowa to provide pre-licensure foster care training through a Christian framework, helping families understand foster care not simply as charity, but as a response to God’s love and His call to care for vulnerable people.

AJ also shares how an unexpected change in Iowa’s foster care licensing process opened a door at exactly the right time, allowing the ministry to help bring the Church back toward the front lines of foster care.

For churches, Christian families, foster parents, ministry leaders, and anyone who cares about vulnerable children, this conversation offers both a challenge and an invitation.
