Children Were Dying for Lack of Clean Water—So This Ministry Went Did Something LIFE CHANGING
When pastors in Guatemala said their children were dying for lack of clean water, a simple water project became something much bigger.
Living Water World Missions is a Christian nonprofit ministry installing sustainable water purification systems in communities in need while working alongside local churches to build relationships, strengthen communities, and share the good news of Jesus Christ. The ministry describes its approach as meeting physical needs while creating opportunities for lasting spiritual and social impact.
Board member Tom McDonald explains why their model goes beyond installing equipment. Local ministry partners help prepare each site, work alongside installation teams, learn to operate and maintain the systems, and receive continued support after installation. That partnership model is designed to create sustainability rather than a one-time mission project.
The work also includes water education, relationships with schools and communities, prayer and encouragement, and opportunities for local churches to share the gospel. Tom also recounts a difficult Guatemala installation where unexpected construction problems, travel delays, and serious opposition threatened the project, yet the team completed the work on schedule.
